Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) (2 - 5 years)

The EYFS curriculum is responsible for a child’s development from birth until they are 5 years old.  Here at ISM the EYFS curriculum begins at 2 years old and continues through to 5 years old:

Discovery & Nursery       (2 - 4 years old)

Reception    (4 - 5 years old)

At ISM our pillars (inspire, nurture, cultivate, create, collaborate) are reinforced beginning in the Early Years as we engage your child in a bright, stimulating and interactive learning environment, thus enabling them to develop and enhance their skills and understanding. We create a holistic learning experiences that integrates socio-emotional, physical and cognitive development.

These are the main areas of learning and development at our Early Years

Our Early Years learning environment  focuses on learning in an interactive, fun and physical manner.  Activities are practical and, on the whole, will be child-led and inquiry-based.

Our staff observe and support learning by nurturing children through:

  • Playing and Exploring - engagement

  • Active Learning – manipulating their environment

  • Creative Learning - critical thinking and creative expression

The ISM Early Years program creates independent, motivated and engaged learners who will have a strong, solid foundation on which to build from Year 1 on.
